I hope all is well, and welcome to ChuwlBlog. Today’s blog topic is very important, and should be one of the most important topics that will be discussed in this blog as every blog published previously are all aligned to this topic. The topic of this blog is “What is the true purpose of the bible”. Many people read the Holy bible; however, they do not know the true purpose, and meaning of the bible. There are many theology schools that do not really teach the true meaning and purpose of the bible. I’m going to give an explanation to the best of my knowledge of the true purpose of what the bible is about. The bible is the most important book to humanity, it has been used by many local churches, and even in governments. Before we dive further, one thing I would like to note is that the Bible is not a “religious” book.
The Purpose
The Bible is about a royal family, who was given a responsibility by their father (God) to rule the planet for him, God wanted them to colonize earth for heaven. God’s idea was, and is kingdom expansion. God is King of the invisible world, God wanted to expand its kingdom from the invisible, and therefore created the visible world (the earth and everything in it, the sea, land, the cosmos were all created by God, and Gods owns it all) That is why King David acknowledge in Psalm 24:1 “The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it;”. God wants to rule the visible world from the invisible through its children. God wants to rule the unseen, and the seen.
The Kingdom of Heaven
King David said in 1 Chronicles 29:11 NIV “Yours, Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor, for everything in heaven and earth is yours. Yours, Lord, is the kingdom; you are exalted as head over all.” In Psalm 24:7 NIV David said “Lift up your heads, your gates; be lifted up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in.” As you can see the bible is about a King and a kingdom expansion purpose which started in Genesis 1 vs 1, however that plan was derailed when sin entered the world because mankind were giving the free will to choose to follow God’s plan or to disobey their King, That’s why Jesus Christ came into the world to put us back on track so we can continue this kingdom expansion plan for God.
The way God wants this Kingdom to expand is through love, because that is its main currency. Two of the greatest commandments Lord, and King Jesus gave us in Matthew 22:37-39 NIV is “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind, This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”
There are many instances where the Kingdom of heaven is mentioned in the bible, and some of the notable ones are In Matthew 3:2 NIV from which Jesus said “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near”. Also in Matthew 6:33 NIV Jesus said ” But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” The main message that Jesus came to deliver was a Kingdom message when he was on earth. Although Jesus did many miracles while on earth, however the purpose of Jesus being on earth was to redeem mankind from sin, and allow us to have access to the Kingdom of God which is here on earth.
Jesus is King, and the Lord
One of the reasons Jesus Christ was crucified was, Jesus Christ re-affirmed to have been a king during the court case with Pilot in Matthew 11 vs 27 NIV “Meanwhile Jesus stood before the governor, and the governor asked him, “Are you the king of the Jews?”
“You have said so,” Jesus replied…
During that time only Caesar claimed to have been only king. When a Kingdom expands it takes away your history and gives you their history. That is why Jesus came into this world to redeem us from sin, so that we can now have a relationship with God.
John 1 verse 1-2 NIV said “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning.” verse 14 says “The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.” Jesus Christ is God’s idea in a body. God took what was in his mind, and expressed it, whatever Jesus said or did was God express. Jesus was the manifestation of God’s ideas. Jesus showed us what God is naturally like. Jesus loved children, he forgave sinners, he healed the sick, he raised the dead, he went to a wedding and saved the reputation of the family. If we want to understand what God thinks about things, we must study Jesus.
Understand God's Inner Mind
The Bible is about understanding the inner mind of God. If we want to understand the inner mind of God we must understand, and read the bible continuously. That is why God loved many people listed in the bible such as David, and Moises because they didn’t want to know the inner workings of God’s hands, but rather they wanted to know God’s mind. That is why David said in the book of psalm “teach me your precept”, the word precept means “original intent”, David wanted to know God’s inner mind, that is why God said I found a man after my own “Heart”. In psalm 111 David said “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow his precepts have good understanding.” It’s very important to understand God’s original idea. In The Kingdom of God our currency is Love, because God is love.
Conclusion
When we read the bible, we should look for the original ideas of God, and by understanding the original ideas of God, this will allow us to understand ourselves, because we were created in the likeness, and image of God. Never accept people’s idea of who you are without consulting God first, always remember that you were created in the likeness, and image of God. God always see the best in you, your full potential, Because God created us, so God knows who we truly are. It’s never too late to get back on track in life, just remember to always consult your father (God). It’s not over until God says so, stay tuned for the next blog.
